When coping isn’t enough, healing becomes the plan.

This wasn’t an easy decision. Landing here took a lot of time and reflection. You’ve likely felt like you’ve been trying everything to keep it together and the truth is you have been. I always say, we’re always operating at our best capacity. We all try our best and sometimes we’re in need of additional help and support.

You may be the person who tries to have it all together and it is feeling overwhelming. You may be the person fighting for stability and strength, while struggling with being called “resilient”. You may have already tried a variety of ways to cope and while some have worked from time to time, it isn’t enough.

Struggling is natural—but being completely consumed is not.

If you feel seen in reading this, please know that struggling is natural but feeling like you’re completely consumed, is not. I have spent almost two decades treating individuals who are ready to feel heard, seen and find relief. I love witnessing vulnerability when it still feels intolerable. Shame lives in secrecy and relief comes when stories are shared in safe spaces.

In your work with me, you’ll find collaboration through empathy as well as directive guidance when necessary. I utilize a blend of Psychodynamic conceptualization with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for the treatment of PTSD. Through my years of experience, I value individualizing treatment to each client and always love exploring how every client is vastly different.

In our work together, we will identify the life you want to live, break down old patterns, gain awareness as well as the knowledge as to when to apply your new skills. I look forward to our work together.

About me…

A little about me…I was born and raised in New Jersey and relocated to Miami for high school. Coming from a small Cuban family as the only child came with a lot of pressure to succeed for myself and my family. Deciding to take Psychology as my elective in Senior year of high school is still one of the best decisions I have made. Everything seemed to click for me during that class. My curiosity about human behavior, my enthusiasm for understanding things and my affinity for empathy towards others. I truly love and am proud of what I do.

When I am not in the office…

You can usually find me spending time with my two sons, boyfriend and our families. I love traveling, listening to music, reading and finding any excuse to visit Target. My sons love Disney but I’m also definitely a Disney adult. I find life is hard and being able to have some fun and find joy in a place full of others doing the same feels therapeutic.

I am also an adjunct Psychology professor at my alma mater, Florida International University, where I teach: Psychotherapy, Psychology of Adolescence and Personality Disorders.

My Areas of Specialty

Treating eating disorders in adults and adolescents, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety/mood disorders as well as suicidality are my passions. Given my background in medical psychology, I also work a lot with individuals managing their health conditions/stressors and any comorbid psychological issues they may be experiencing. I enjoy working with individuals who are struggling with feeling like things aren’t working and not knowing where to go next.
